Through partnerships with proven leaders in foster care, we strive to amplify potential outcomes for the most promising programs in the system today.
Foster Care Counts had its inception in May 2008 when DKK Events staged a “Second Day Event” on Mother’s Day at the home of Anthony & Jeanne Pritzker in Los Angeles to celebrate foster parents and their families. Over the last four years, more and more foster families have been invited to take part in what is now, Foster Mother’s Day.
Volunteers and corporate sponsors – such as Nestle, Wolfgang Puck Catering, Jouer, and Paul Mitchell — have joined together to make this a fabulous celebration for all those moms and dads who give so much of themselves to give home to those youth who need it most.
Foster Care Counts is an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to helping foster youth get the education they need to become self-sufficient, independent young adults. We hold special events in honor of foster youth and families and we raise funds to support numerous community-based organizations dedicated to helping foster youth.
