Foster Care Counts improves the lives of youth in foster care and ensures they thrive. We partner with care and advocacy organizations to address the gaps in service and impediments to success and target ways to boost outcomes. Together, we ignite initiatives to empower foster youth, improve access to valuable resources, and incite change on their behalf.

Help Support foster youth in college

Over the past 6 years, Foster Care Counts has raised millions of dollars to support foster youth and families in Los Angeles because of donors like you. At this time of year, our efforts focus on our primary goal: helping students who have grown up in foster care access college, graduate, and go on to secure jobs and financial independence. These kids have overcome enormous odds to make it to college - and all of them are on financial aid and working to make it through school.  Few have family members to stay with when school is not in session.

In partnership with LA County Department of Children and Family Services and over 20 Guardian Scholar Programs on Southern California college campuses (which offer foster youth enrolled a community of friends, special services and financial support), we've helped ensure that thousands of foster finish their studies and go on to pursue their dreams.
